A symbolic Number Ten

The proposed contest is joyful and completely unofficial. It would give Mytholmroyd a symbolic northern Number Ten, with no transfer of government authority. The symbol is an invitation to discuss an idea, not a claim that a government move has been agreed.

Household participation and confirmation of the exact doorway must come before a public launch.

Why Mytholmroyd?

The campaign connects its joke to the proposal for a future northern government hub in Mytholmroyd. A future Wuthering Wall connection is part of that proposition. Both the hub and its transport relationship remain proposals.

The contest is still being prepared

Voting is not open. Household participation and exact doorway confirmation remain necessary before candidates can be introduced publicly.

A future shortlist would give each candidate equal treatment. No live leaderboard, current leader, vote totals or rankings are proposed. After a result, the intention is to retain an unranked record alongside the winner.
